Our Core Area Calculator allows you to calculate the required area of louvre for a specific pressure drop and volume flow rate.
Why is it useful?
Depending on the louvre model you choose, you may be able to reduce the amount of louvre for your building.
Here’s an example using 3 of our popular rain defence models.
For a given Volumetric Flow Rate of 30m3/s, maximum Pressure Drop of 25Pa, the following Core Area* is required:
- RSV-5700 = 16.36m2
- RS-5900 = 13.73m2
- RS-5605 = 10.08m2
*core area excludes louvre frame
Specification
The principal reason for using louvres is to allow the movement of air. But, louvre specification is a balance between form and function, with louvred façade appearance playing an important part in the selection process.
